U.S. Consulate Announces Contest to Win a Free Dream Trip to the U.S.

The U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macau is pleased to announce a contest called “My American Dream” where participants can win a dream vacation to experience the splendid America landscape and unique culture and history. Details are:

• Participation is open to HK SAR, Macau SAR and BNO passport holders ages 18 & over.
• Entries must be sent to myamericandream2013@gmail.com by May 15, 2013 to be eligible.
• Content: Send us a 1-2 minute video, a short essay, a blog entry, or a photo slide show with captions explaining your “American Dream,” and why we should fulfill that dream for you. Your “American Dream” must include a specific site in the United States (for example: a tourist attraction, tourist site, city, state, park, etc.). And of course, it has to be realizable within one-week’s time in the United States. If you’re sending a video, upload it to YouTube and send us the link. If you’re sending a photo slideshow, upload it to Flickr and send us the link. Please include your valid email address, mailing address and phone number in your entry.
• Three winners will be announced at the International Travel Expo and on U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong & Macau social media platforms on June 15, including:
o 2 Grand Prize Winners win 2 roundtrip tickets to their AMERICAN DREAM location in the United States, a 5 night hotel stay & a 1-week car rental;
o The Grand Prize Winner with the most creative contest entry also wins a 2-night/3-day Disney Vacation Package for Two at Disneyland Resort in California;
o 1 Runner-Up wins a 5-night hotel stay in the United States; lunch and dinner for 2 at the CONRAD Hong Kong; & a meal for 2 at the JW Marriott Hong Kong.
Entries will be judged on creativity & originality, as well as the ability of the participant to fulfill and record the DREAM. Finalists will be interviewed in person or by phone.
