委內瑞拉駐香港總領事館館長賈斯雅在「中國 – 委內瑞拉文化匯展:紀念中委兩國建交四十周年」致辭
Speech by Ms. Ana Dubraska Garcia, Consul-in-Charge of Consulate General of Venezuela in Hong Kong at “Cultural Presentation China – Venezuela : In Commemoration of the Fortieth Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between Both Nations”
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro Moros and our Minister of Foreign affairs Elias Jaua Milano, the Consulate General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Hong Kong S.A.R welcomes our esteemed guests tonight.
Today we are gathered here to celebrate two relevant historic events.
The first one being the 28th of June 2014, when Venezuela and China marked the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations,
particularly improved since 1999 when President Chavez add a new momemtum, that built foundations for political trust, as demonstrated by the signing of almost 500 important agreements .
For Venezuela, one of the most important aspects of this relation is its transforming impact and concrete benefits to its people, which justifies also the inclusion of cooperation in the plans of growth in the next 10 years.
The agreements aim for cooperation in the industrial, infrastructure social development, agriculture, minerals, energy, technology and petrochemical sectors that go beyond the achievements made with the successful orbiting of comunications satellites, “Simon Bolivar” in 2008 and “ Francisco de Miranda” in 2012.
This relationship was also derived from Venezuela’s commitment to be the most reliable suplier of energy resources to China.
Another important aspects of these links is the mutual respect, solidarity and mutually beneficial exchanges and issues raised by leaders of both nations.
In these sense we would like to congratulate China for the 60 years of the declaration of the principles of peaceful coexistence in which
Mutual respect for each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty
Mutual non-agression
Mutual non-interference in each other’s internal affairs
Equality and cooperation for mutual benefit and Peaceful co-existence
conferred China a protagonistic role for the necessary restructuring of a new world order that generally implies the conformation of a more pacifist, humane, and fair world.
Today we also celebrate another year of the independance of Venezuela , that was achieved in July 5th 1811.
Our strive for the construction of independent republics started two centuries ago.
But today, just like yesterday, opposing forces still exist in constant struggle.
The progressive revolutionary powers were reignited in Latin America by our Supreme Comandante HUGO RAFAEL CHAVEZ FRIAS and these powers are represented today in Venezuela by President Nicolas Maduro Moros. Today, we raise the flag to fight for a truly free country. The Bolivarian ideals of sovereignty, the legitimate right for self-determination and Latin American integration are taken up as an ideological tool for a Socialist Venezuela. However, in recent years, it has been unleashed a smear campaign against Venezuela. In the past weeks we underwent a continuous siege in positioning us as violators of human rights, as well as trying to tear down our tradition and commitment to peace.
National and international mass media have been employed to carry out a systematic psychological warfare against our country exclusively transmitting negative news about our Venezuela in a deproportionate way.
Therefore, given the international campaign of lies and in the name of our right to peace and dignity it is our obligation to highlight the achievements of the Bolivarian Revolution led by Comandante Chavez that have earned the recognition of the international community.
UNESCO has certified our nations as free of illiteracy.
It is a nation where hunger is no longer a cause for fatality as recognized by the FAO in 2013
it is a nation where the entire population is entitled to free education, with internet access and computers, that led to an award from UNESCO
In a decade, we have reduced overall poverty by 25% and reduced the misery index to only 5%, we have one of the lowest inequality index of the region.
We reiterate that Venezuela is a country with a vocation for peace by the will of the majority of Venezuelans who opted to walk the path for the construction of the social state of law and justice, with an international policy based on respect, mutual cooperation and recognition of the free self-determination of people as fundamental pillars for the world where peace and harmony as well as the well-being of our people.
