REY、JULBO、LAFONT、BONNIE、LOOK VISION、OKO EYEWEAR、OPAL、MODERN OPTIQUE、SEAPORT ODLM、VANESSA & MEHDI、VISIOPTIS、VULLET VEGA、COGAN及ZILLI。

FRANCE’S SPECTACLE TRADE AT HONG KONG OPTICAL FAIR
At the 2014 Hong Kong Optical Fair, to be held on November 5th to 7th, UBIFRANCE (the French Agency for International Business Development), in partnership with LEOO (an association of ophthalmic optical industry businesses), will organise a pavilion bringing together the sector’s French offer. About twenty companies chose to attend this key event for Asian optical industry professionals so they could reassert their presence – one that stands out on the basis of traditional know-how constantly venturing on the cutting edge of creativity.
French spectacle frame manufacturers supply a very wide range of international brands and designer labels that are firmly positioned in upscale market niches, and they do this in partnership with major brand names in fashion and with opticians. In 2013, and despite significant competition from Asia, France ranked 6th worldwide in spectacle frame exports. The country exports 50% of its production, worth about USD 230m (in 2012). That same year, France sold 13 million spectacle frames, including 5.2 million sunglasses.
The sector’s industrial fabric is chiefly made up of SMEs; the 19 exhibiting companies will introduce their latest creations, reflecting their innovation and their long tradition of highly efficient technologies, especially when it comes to working new materials. Their creativity is closely related to the on-going search for flawless quality, performed by their internal design divisions.
Whatever the trends in design and materials may be (precious wood, silk, solid gold, buffalo horn, titanium, cellulose acetate or carbon fibre), the core concern among France’s spectacle makers is the search for comfort and for products that are perfectly suited to the customer. The currently booming children’s spectacles sector is a highly representative instance of this approach. Combining high technology with handmade products leads to bringing jewellery and fashion accessories into the world of optics.
