由法國駐港澳總領事館商務專員公署(Ubifrance)籌辦的法國五月美食節 (Le French GourMay) 今年正式踏入第六屆,繼續為香港及澳門呈獻法國殿堂級的美酒佳餚,滿足饕客對法國菜及醇酒的渴望。香港和澳門的高級餐廳聯同多位星級大廚和法國優質酒莊,攜手打造最滋味的法國五月,特別精心設計一系列特色菜單和舉辦精彩的品酒會、推廣活動和研討會。

每年法國五月美食節皆特別推介法國各個產區的葡萄酒,今年的主角是羅訥河谷(Rhône Valley)的佳釀。北羅訥河谷產區唯一使用西拉葡萄(Syrah)釀製紅酒,以其濃郁芳香及辛辣口味刺激味蕾!南羅訥河谷產區由於葡萄種類繁多,所釀製的醇酒帶來無限驚喜!無論是紅酒或白酒,羅訥河谷葡萄酒皆有獨特的醉人香氣及豐富口感。

法國駐港澳總領事柏雅諾先生在中環的Azure Restaurant Slash Bar主持第六屆法國五月美食節開幕禮,並致以開幕辭,米芝蓮星級法國大廚Pierre Gagnaire先生到場支持。

羅訥河谷葡萄酒

羅訥河谷葡萄園位於法國東南部,從里昂(Lyon)延伸阿維尼翁(Avignon),歷史可追溯到兩千多年前。它是法國第二大法定葡萄酒產區(AOC),沿著羅訥河覆蓋至地中海岸邊。羅訥河谷盛產紅葡萄酒,目前產量佔85%以上。

羅訥河谷不僅陽光明媚,從阿爾卑斯山吹向地中海的強勁西北風更帶走潮氣,令當地葡萄茁壯成長。產區內的葡萄酒具有豐富而濃郁的口感,部分原因是由於整體產量低、土壤的多樣性和地中海的日照時間。

在北羅訥河谷產區,半大陸性氣候非常適合種植葡萄,尤其是西拉葡萄。該產區所出產的葡萄酒優雅而細膩,當中包括不少頂級高級葡萄酒(Crus),如羅帝丘(Côte-Rôtie)、孔得里約(Condrieu)、埃米塔日(Hermitage)。

在南羅訥河谷產區,屬地中海氣候,所出產的葡萄酒大部分由黑歌海娜(Grenache)、西拉(Syrah)和慕合怀特(Mourvèdre)葡萄混釀而成。受惠於當地陽光明媚的天氣,這些酒口感圓潤、充滿果香及辛辣香氣。

羅訥河谷葡萄酒備受好評,獲得廣大葡萄酒愛好者的追捧,無論是淺嚐則止的酒迷,還是味蕾敏感的品酒師。

羅訥河谷包括以下法定葡萄酒產區:法定命名羅訥河谷區(Côtes du Rhône)的葡萄酒口感勻稱,最適宜作為餐酒。法定命名羅訥河谷村莊區(AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages)可以接受的氣候和土壤條件要比羅訥河谷區更為苛刻,但口感更宜人。最高等級的產區為法定命名羅訥河谷村莊區(村莊命名) (AOC Crus),出產來自法定命名羅訥河谷區(Côtes du Rhône)的“旗艦酒”。無論是源自埃米塔日(Hermitage),還是吉恭達斯(Gigondas)山坡,均贏得國際美譽。

羅訥河谷葡萄酒亦包括其他區域性法定產區:貝勒加德克萊雷(Clairette de Bellegarde)、尼姆區(Costières de Nîmes)、維瓦萊山坡( Côtes du Vivarais)、安德瑪幹( Grignan Les Adhemar)、 呂貝龍(Luberon)、旺度( Ventoux)、烏茲公爵地區餐酒( Duché d’Uzes)。

里昂美食

除了葡萄酒,羅訥河谷的美食亦久負盛名,常被稱為法國的美食之都。里昂特式小酒館 - Bouchon 舉世知名,所烹調的傳統料理猶如媽媽親自下廚炮製,給予人一種親切的家庭溫暖;因此贏得不少美譽,並啟發了許多米芝蓮星級廚師。

羅訥河谷擁有得天獨厚的地理條件,因此產品種類繁多,窩心菜式包括:肉湯丸(the quenelle)、里昂式豬肉香腸(Cochonnaille Lyonnaise /Pork charcuterie)、馳名世界的伯黑斯雞(Volaille de Bresse)、法式熏大腸(Andouillette)、豬腳、紅酒燉雞(Coq au vin)、里昂沙律,當然還少不了一大堆“芝味無窮”的法國芝士。

在整個法國五月美食節期間,城中多間米芝蓮星級餐廳包括Amber、Caprice、L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon、 Pierre、Restaurant Petrus (珀翠餐廳)、Robuchon au Dôme (天巢法國餐廳)、Spoon by Alain Ducasse和The Tasting Room by Galliot (御膳房)將參與其中,供應以羅訥河谷為主題的美食饗宴。從二零一四年五月二日至五月三十一日,以上餐廳將推出叫人垂涎的French GourMay套餐。為使這美味體驗更獨特完美,菜單特別搭配產自羅訥河谷的醇美佳釀。

關於法國五月

法國五月美食節是法國五月藝術節的一部份,法國五月藝術節為一項全球性的藝術盛事,為觀眾帶來刺激五官的藝術體驗。

由法國領事館與法國文化協會合辦的法國五月藝術節,在康樂及文化事務署支援下,已有二十二年歷史。自一九九三年成立以來,法國五月 (www.frenchmay.com) 已成為了亞洲最大型的藝術節之一,吸引了逾五百萬名參與者。

The 6th Annual Le French GourMay to discover Rhône Valley Wines and Food

For the sixth consecutive year, Le French GourMay 2014, organized by Ubifrance - the French Trade Commission in Hong Kong, will indulge the people of Hong Kong and Macau a craving for the best of French wines and gastronomy. Restaurants, Michelin-starred chefs, as well as wine importers and distributors in Hong Kong and Macau advocate the festival by providing dedicated menus to match with French wines, wine tastings, promotions and workshops.

The beauty of Le French GourMay is to present annually the wine from a different region of France. In 2014, Rhône Valley steps into the spotlight! The northern Rhône activates our taste buds with its dark, powerful and spicy red wine made with the Syrah grape. And the southern Rhône creates surprises with blends made from a mix of various grapes. Red or white wine, Rhône Valley is renowned for the distinguishable aroma and unique characteristic.

The Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr. Arnaud BARTHELEMY, delivered an opening speech at the Le French GourMay press conference at Azure Restaurant Slash Bar, with the honored presence of Mr. Chef Pierre Gagnaire, Michelin starred French chef.

The Rhône Valley Wines

The Rhone Valley vineyard stretches in southeastern France from Lyon to Avignon, with vines date back over 2,000 years. It is the second largest AOC vineyard in France and follows the Rhône River all the way down to the Mediterranean Sea. Today, 85% of the production of the Rhône Valley is red wines.

The sunny climate of the region and the strong “Mistral” wind (from the Alps down to the Mediterranean Sea) helps keep the vines naturally healthy. Rhône Valley wines exhibit rich and concentrated flavors, partly due to the overall low yield, the diversity of soil and Mediterranean sun.

In the northern part, the vines benefit from a semi-continental climate, where the Syrah grape variety is at its best. These wines are superb with elegance and subtleness. In this area, some of the prestigious Crus of the Rhône Valley Wines are made such as Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, etc.

In the southern part, the climate is Mediterranean. These wines are “blended wines” with a majority of Grenache associated with Syrah and Mourvèdre. Thanks to an exceptional sunny climate, these wines are particularly generous, with fruity and spicy aromas.

Critically acclaimed, Rhône Valley produces easygoing wines and makes all wine lovers happy, from occasional drinkers to specialists with refined palates.

The Rhône Valley wines include the following appellations: Côtes du Rhône are frank, generous and go so well with everyday dishes. Easy to drink and to appreciate, the AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages are produced on specific terrors with more demanding conditions of production. And at the top of the pyramid: the AOC Crus. These are the « flagship » wines from Côtes du Rhône. They have a worldwide reputation, whether they come from a hill in Hermitage or from the Gigondas hillsides.

The Rhône Valley wines also include the others regional appellations: Clairette de Bellegarde, Costières de Nîmes, Côtes du Vivarais, Grignan Les Adhemar, Luberon, Ventoux , Duché d’Uzes.

Second bigger vineyard of AOC in France, Rhône Valley wines showed a remarkable commercial dynamism. The Côtes du Rhône wines are exported towards more than 145 countries in the world. The export of Rhône Valley Wines in Hong Kong has increased significantly in 2013 and will certainly be the highlight of this year.

Lyon’s Cuisine

Apart from the wines, the Rhône Valley has long been celebrating for its gastronomy; it is often referred as the French gastronomic capital. Well-known for its traditional dishes made by the Mères (the mothers) in the “Bouchons Lyonnais”, the Lyon and Rhône Cuisine has won the critics and enjoy some of the best award-winning chefs.

The region is blessed with a great variety of products coming from the Rhône Valley region and sublimed in some of the best French heart-warming dishes: the quenelle, Cochonnaille Lyonnaise (Pork charcuterie), the world famous Volaille de Bresse, Andouillette, Pork Feet, Coq au vin, Lyonnaise Salad and last but not least an incredible selection of cheeses.

The promotional activities of Le French GourMay 2014 in several different ways:

The “Rhône Valley” menu at Michelin-starred restaurants

Throughout Le French GourMay, Michelin-starred French restaurants such as Amber, Caprice, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Pierre, Restaurant Petrus, Robuchon au Dôme, Spoon by Alain Ducasse and The Tasting Room by Galliot will join the festival to create gastronomic feasts with the theme of Rhône Valley. From 2nd to 31st May 2014, these prestigious restaurants will offer a special French GourMay menu. To further complement this unique culinary experience, the menus are specifically paired with Rhône Valley wines.
