Malaysia Kitchen Photography Competition in HOFEX
Malaysia Kitchen Photography Exhibition: Moving, Thrilling, Motivating.
One of Asia's most important trade shows for hotel, food, service and equipment supplying industry had become more consumer-driven as an iconic exhibition in the region. Along the alley of the exhibition hall where a lineup of Malaysian exhibitors located, visitors were queuing up to sample Malaysian brand food products that included tropical fruits, meal products, food ingredients, healthy drinks, dairy and etc.
Making use of the Event Marketing area of HOFEX on the upper floor venue of the Convention and Exhibition Center, Wan Chai, MATRADE (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation) hosted a cocktail party that had invited a group of business partners, friends and reporters to sample exotic Malaysian cuisine whist enjoying live music and meeting of new friends from local and abroad on 12 May, 2011.

Mr. Edison Choong, Trade Commissioner or Malaysia in Hong Kong, delivered a speech that outlined the objective of MATRADE's continual presence at HOFEX linking businesses home to meeting overseas market demands. He mentioned that Malaysia is interested in the ‘farm to fork’ business, where investment in agriculture sector is needed, manufacturing enhancement and distribution networks are required, coupled with good retail strategies and innovative consumer marketing.
He also introduced the Malaysia Kitchen Photography Competition as recently held in Hong Kong and Macau, explaining the goodwill and aim behind that prize-winning promotion. The competition had successfully drawn from an enthusiastic group of some three hundred photographers that sent in their entries.

A selection of Malaysia Kitchen Photography Competition entries was displayed in the venue where guests had a first glance of the works of these cuisine shooting skills. According to Mr. Choong, this is what the competition is all about --- nurturing partnerships through two topics, photography and food where the public can polished their photography skills and creative talents whilst learning more about Malaysian cuisine and culture. It’s a moving, thrilling and motivating experience!
