Speech by Ms. Zhao Yufang, Vice Governor of Government of Guangdong Province at Korean National Day Reception

尊敬的楊昌洙總領事，

女士們、先生們，朋友們：

大家好！今天，我非常高興應邀出席韓國國慶招待酒會。在此，我謹代表廣東省人民政府，向楊昌洙總領事，以及所有在廣東工作、學習、生活的韓國朋友致以誠摯的節日問候和良好祝願！並借此機會，祝願在韓國仁川舉辦的第十七屆亞運會取得圓滿成功。

中韓兩國互為重要近鄰，是好夥伴、好朋友，兩國建交以來，各個領域的友好交流合作取得豐碩成果。廣東作為中國改革開放的先行省，與韓國的交流合作歷來密切，雙方政府高層往來頻繁，在經貿投資、科技教育、文化旅遊等方面開展了卓有成效的合作。自二零一零年以來，廣東省政府與韓國產業通商資源部（前韓國知識經濟部）聯合舉辦了四屆“韓國—廣東發展論壇”，有效促進了雙方經貿等領域的交流，促成了韓國浦項制鐵、樂金顯示等企業與廣東的合作。去年廣東與韓國進出口貿易額達七百零二億美元、同比增長13.4%；今年以來，粵韓經貿保持穩定發展，一至八月廣東對韓國出口達一百六十九億美元、同比增長1.6%；實際吸收韓國資金四億八千七百萬美元、同比增長59%。同時，廣東與韓國建立了八對友城關係，為深化兩地人民的友好情誼架起了新橋樑。這些成績的取得，離不開韓國總領館和楊昌洙總領事的積極支持和大力推動。對此我們深表讚賞和感謝！

當前，中韓兩國合作發展進入新階段。今年七月，習近平主席成功對韓國進行國事訪問，與朴槿惠總統一致決定中韓作實現共同發展的夥伴、致力地區和平的夥伴、攜手振興亞洲的夥伴、促進世界繁榮的夥伴，為共創兩國關係美好未來指明了方向。廣東作為中國的經濟大省、外貿大省，正在全面深化改革，加快轉型升級，構建對外開放新格局，打造建設二十一世紀海上絲綢之路的橋頭堡。我們希望進一步加強與韓國的交流合作，與韓國朋友一起攜手拓展合作領域，完善合作機制，提升雙方在先進製造業、高新技術產業和現代服務業的合作水準，鞏固和發展雙方在科技、教育、體育和旅遊等領域的務實合作，共創互利共贏、繁榮發展的美好明天！

最後，祝中韓兩國繁榮昌盛，人民幸福安康！祝楊昌洙總領事及各位朋友身體健康、工作順利、家庭幸福！

Speech by Ms. Zhao Yufang, Vice Governor of Government of Guangdong Province at Korean National Day Reception

Honorable Consul General Yang Chang-soo,

Dear friends,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Good evening. I’m very delighted to attend the reception tonight to celebrate the National Day of ROK. On behalf of Guangdong People’s Government, I’d like to extend our sincere festive greetings and best wishes to Consul General Yang Chang-soo and the Korean community in Guangdong, and in particular, wish the 17th Incheon Asian Games a full success.

China and ROK are important neighbors to each other. We are good partners and good friends. Since the establishment of the diplomatic ties, friendly exchanges and cooperation have yielded substantial results. As the pioneer to implement China’s reform and opening up, Guangdong has been traditionally closely linked to ROK by mutual frequent high-level visits, and fruitful cooperation in economy and trade, investment, science and technology, education, culture and tourism.

Since 2010, ROK-Guangdong Development Forum has been jointly held four times by Guangdong People’s Government and ROK Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The Forum has effectively promoted bilateral exchanges in various areas including economy and trade, and contributed to the cooperation between POSCO, LG Display and Guangdong.

Last year, the trade volume between Guangdong and ROK registered $70.2 billion, with a year-on-year growth rate of 13.4%. Since the beginning of this year, the economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong and ROK has maintained steady development. From January to August this year, the export from Guangdong to ROK reached $16.9 billion, and the actual utilized FDI from ROK was $487 million, increasing 1.6% and 59% respectively. Meanwhile, Guangdong has established eight twining relationships with ROK by now, which serve as new bridges in deepening the friendship between the two people. All these could not have been achieved without the support and efforts of the Consulate General led by Consul General Yang Chang-soo, for which we want to express our compliments and appreciation.

Currently, the cooperation between China and ROK has entered into a new stage. During his successful state visit to ROK this July, President Xi Jinping and President Park Geun-hye decided together that the two sides should become partners that share common development, promote regional peace and Asia's revitalization, and boost world prosperity. This has pointed out a direction for the bright future of the two countries.

As a large economic and foreign trade province of China, Guangdong is comprehensively deepening reform, accelerating transformation and upgrading, building a new layout of opening up, and forging the bridgehead in the efforts of building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. We hope to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with ROK, expand cooperation areas, improve cooperation mechanisms, enhance the cooperation level in advanced manufacturing, hi-tech industry and modern service industry, develop the pragmatic cooperation in such areas as science and technology, education, sports and tourism, so as to achieve a win-win and prosperous tomorrow.

Finally, wish China and ROK great prosperity, the two people happiness. Wish Consul General Yang Chang-soo and all the friends good health, prosperous career, and happy family.
