第36屆香港國際電影節 國際群星閃耀開幕禮之夜
A Dazzling Opening Night for the 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival

第36屆香港國際電影節開幕典禮於二零一二年三月二十一日假香港會議展覽中心隆重舉行。本屆電影節以叫好叫座的《志明與春嬌》續集《春嬌與志明》作首映來揭開序幕。《春嬌與志明》導演彭浩翔,主角楊千嬅、余文樂和楊冪應邀出席,星光燦爛,一同見證一年一度矚目的亞洲電影盛事。此外,國際巨星兼巴黎國際電影節主席夏綠蒂藍萍亦於會上宣佈與香港國際電影節首度合作之詳情。

商務及經濟發展局局長蘇錦樑太平紳士亦應邀擔任主禮嘉賓,與香港國際電影節協會主席王英偉太平紳士、國際巨星兼巴黎國際電影節主席夏綠蒂藍萍、電影節焦點影人陳可辛導演、電影節大使楊千嬅及《春嬌與志明》導演彭浩翔、主角余文樂及楊冪一起為電影節正式揭幕。

香港國際電影節協會主席王英偉太平紳士表示:「香港國際電影節一貫重視提高年輕人對電影的興趣及他們的的電影素養。香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助之賽馬會電影學堂,就是以此為宗旨,例如剛舉行之國際大師班,以及將舉行的本屆電影節焦點影人陳可辛先生之香港名家講座。」王主席亦感謝各政府部門、合作夥伴及贊助商的鼎力支持,使電影節能發展至今天的成績。

國際聞名的傳奇女星兼巴黎國際電影節主席夏綠蒂藍萍於會上宣佈,巴黎國際電影節今年踏入十周年,將會以香港電影作為今年電影節的焦點:「很高興能與香港國際電影節合作,搜羅超過八十部五十、六十年代至今的佳作,包括香港新浪潮及本地新一代的作品。」在今年的香港國際電影節,亦會展出以夏綠蒂藍萍為題的紀錄片《夏綠蒂藍萍自畫像》及她有份參演的《磨坊與十字架》。

第36屆香港國際電影節為期十六天,於三月二十一日至四月五日舉行,放映來自五十個國家的二百八十三部電影,當中包括五十三部世界、國際或亞洲首映。

A Dazzling Opening Night for the 36th Hong Kong International Film Festival

The star-studded Opening Ceremony of the 36th Hong Kong International film Festival (HKIFF) was held on 21 March, 2012 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Ceremony was followed by the Gala Premiere of Love in the Buff, a sequel to the mega box office success, Love in a Puff in 2010. It continues the love story between protagonists Jimmy Cheung and Cherie Yue (Shawn Yue and Miriam Yeung reprise their roles). Director Pang Ho-cheung, cast members Miriam Yeung, Shawn Yue and Mini Yang were all present to celebrate the 36th HKIFF at this dazzling opening night.

Ms. Charlotte Rampling, the legendary actress and the President of Festival Paris Cinema (PCIFF) also attended the ceremony to announce details of its collaboration with HKIFF.

Officiating guests at the opening ceremony were Mr. Gregory SO Kam-leung, JP, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, and Mr. Wilfred WONG Ying-wai, SBS, JP, Chairman of the HKIFF Society and Ms. Charlotte RAMPLING, the legendary actress and the President of PCIFF, the 36th HKIFF Filmmaker in Focus, Peter CHAN Ho-sun, Festival Ambassador Miriam YEUNG, director of Love in the Buff, Mr. PANG Ho-cheung and the actors Shawn YUE and Mini YANG.

Mr. Wong highlighted aspects of the festival and the HKIFFS‟s work “HKIFF is committed to nurturing and encouraging the appreciation of film culture among our young people. We are grateful to the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for their support of our Jockey Club Cine Academy. Its activities include the recently concluded successful Master Class and an upcoming public “Face to Face” discussion with this year‟s filmmaker-in-focus director Peter Chan Ho-sun.”

Mr. Wong also thanked the dedication of various government departments and the Festival‟s partners, supporters and sponsors, which have been instrumental to the Festival‟s development as a truly international film festival.

Ms. Charlotte Rampling, an internationally acclaimed screen icon and the President of PCIFF announced that PCIFF will present a Focus in Hong Kong cinema as part of its 10th Anniversary celebration. “We are grateful for our collaboration with the HKIFF with a selection of over 80 films, ranging from melodrama from the 1950 and 60s to the present, rare movies from the Hong Kong New Wave, and films from the new generation of filmmakers.” The Look, together with The Mill & the Cross, both featuring Rampling, will be screened during the Festival.

The 36th HKIFF will run for 16 days from 21 March to 5 April, screening 283 titles from 50 countries, 53 of them are world, international or Asian premieres.
