Today the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is a powerful, independent country even the United States, which poses as “the only superpower,” dares not attack, and a strong fortress for defending peace in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

This surprising reality is unthinkable apart from the wise guidance of Kim Jong Un.

Last year the situation in Korea was very serious. In the beginning of the year the US resorted to the schemes aimed at stifling the DPRK, labelling the latter’s launching of a peaceful satellite as the “launching of a long-range missile.” Clamouring about the DPRK’s “threat” and “provocation,” the US railroaded another resolution for sanctions against it through the United Nations Security Council. The US and its followers thought that the DPRK would collapse with fear of their offensives.

However, they were mistaken.

In the light of the prevailing situation Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the DPRK, expressed his firm resolution to take practical, intensive and important national measures.

It was not an empty talk. The DPRK took the physical step of demonstrating its will and capabilities to defend its sovereignty to the last. Excellent performances of a variety of war deterrents were fully demonstrated.

The US and its followers raised hubbubs.

The US plan to stifle the DPRK through international pressure by capitalizing on the latter’s launching of a peaceful satellite went up in smoke.

Instead of drawing a lesson from it, the US openly indicated its plan for military invasion against the DPRK by staging war exercises with the mobilization of huge armed forces.

It staged Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises on a large scale in south Korea. Reckless were the nuclear war exercises. A squadron of B-52 nuclear strategic bombers flew into the sky over south Korea and launched a nuclear exercise of striking at the targets in the depth of the DPRK. At the same time the US made the mass media openly advertise its operations plan.

The world followed the developments on the Korean peninsula. At this time the Supreme Headquarters of the Korean People’s Army published a statement, in which it stated that it would place on A-class combat preparedness all the field artillery force group including strategic rocket force units and long-range artillery units that were to strike the US bases in the operational zone of the Pacific Forces including the US mainland, Hawaii and Guam and all the military targets in and around south Korea.

It was a sharp warning against the reckless attempt of the US.

However, the US responded to it by conducting an exercise in south Korea for striking the ground targets in the DPRK by enlisting B-2A stealth strategic bombers in the US mainland.

It seemed as if a military conflict, a nuclear war, was unavoidable on the Korean peninsula.

To cope with the situation the KPA Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un convened an emergency operations meeting. He examined and finally ratified the plan for firepower strike. He emphasized that the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK would respond to the US nuclear blackmail with merciless nuclear attack and to its war of aggression with a righteous all-out war.

His matchless courage of responding to the enemy’s hard line with harder line, delivering decisive counterblows to the enemy’s military threat, dispirited the US and made its followers dumbfounded.

Having demonstrated the sovereignty and dignity of his socialist country in the face of the worst trials, he led his service personnel and people to make a great leap forward in building a thriving socialist country and a civilized country.

Under his guidance, they brought about a great heyday of creation and changes, building many monumental structures that were leading the world civilization; the Munsu Water Park, Mirim Riding Club, Masikryong Ski Resort and other structures have been built one after another.

2013 was a year of pride and glory for the Korean people, when they won historic victories in the struggle to defend socialism and in the building of a thriving country.

The world people praised them highly, saying that they were literally miracles and great victories of Kim Jong Un’s Songun-based leadership.

The editor-in-chief of Russian newspaper Zavtra, wrote: “In the face of the enemy’s bombs, slanders, calumnies, threat and misinformation campaign, the DPRK has built a wonderful civilization of its style and a red world, valuable crystallizations. As thousands of streams, they are being propagated to other continents. The DPRK is fighting against hostile forces. It teaches a correct option to human beings.”

Victory and glory are always in store for socialist Korea led by the great, brilliant Songun commander.
