Mongolia sends one of its biggest delegations to Shenzhen

MONGOLIA SENDS ONE OF ITS BIGGEST DELEGATIONS TO SHENZHEN

Mongolia will participate with one of its biggest delegations since 1965 (Budapest) at the 26th Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China involving 157 participants in 13 sports including artistic gymnastics, swimming, tennis, judo, table tennis, shooting, badminton, cycling, archery, chess, aerobics, weightlifting and taekwondo. The fact that China is a neighboring country and the recent development of some sports (shooting, cycling, archery, chess, aerobics, weightlifting and taekwondo) in Mongolia have been a big incentive to send a big delegation to the Games.

Medal contenders on the Mongolian delegation are chess grandmasters B. Munguntuul, T. Batchimeg and international masters B. Gundavaa, D. Yanjindulam and Ts. Batchuluun, the gold medallists at the 2010 WUC Chess in Zürich. Judokas O. Chinbat (60 kg), B. Khishigbayar (66 kg), B. Munkhtuya (+78 kg), international championship and world cup medallists. Shooting team member Ts. Khongorzul (World Youth Champion 2011) and T. Bayartseteg, G. Kherlentsetseg, silver medallist 2008 WUC Shooting in Beijing.

The Mongolian delegation is headed by Ch. Naranbaatar, Chairman of State Authority for Physical Culture and Sports - Implementing agency of Mongolian Government and Assistant to HOD Mrs. Erdenetuya, Executive Director NUSF Mongolia. Also FISU Treasurer Mr. Bayasgalan D. and D. Jargalsaikhan, FISU CIC member will be present in Shenzhen. The Mongolian team brings 4 international referees and judges to the Games, i.e. D. Enkhtuvshin (Judo), B. Oyun, G. Yeruultbat (Aerobics) and L. Otgonbaatar (Taekwondo). At the FISU Conference 7 Mongolian speakers will present their abstracts in Shenzhen University.

Mongolian national TV and TV-9 stations will air translated live broadcasts of the Universiade.

On August 2nd, MSSF will organize in Ulaanbaatar city a fairway ceremony in the Central sports palace which will be attended by the Minister of Sport Mr. Lambaa S. and the Minister of Education Mr. Otgonbayar E. and leaders of the 13 involved sports federations, as well as the Mongolian delegation.

Some companies are helping to Mongolian athletes for the Summer Universiade 2011. From Mongolian Airlines Company /MIAT/ is providing discounts for all of Mongolian delegations return air tickets from Ulaanbaatar to Hongkong.

As well as Union Pay company gave cards with some money to Mongolian participants. Also Chinese 361 Degree Company will provide uniforms for athletes and they can wear their clothes during the competition, opening and closing ceremony.
